Common causes include:
- Stress.
- Age >60. As we age many people require less sleep. This can be normal for some.
- Caffeine containing beverages.
- Alcohol. Will cause many to fall asleep faster but then sleep poorly.
- No exercise.
- Recently stopping a sleep medication.
